Donate Your Dresses!
A list of locations will be available in Fall 2025.
Dress and Effect is committed to reusing and reducing fashion waste. While we’re always grateful for your gently used dresses, we also accept imperfect formalwear for recycling through our partner, Helpsy.
Thanks to this collaboration, we kept over 600 pounds of dresses (Westchester County, NY, 2025) out of landfills.

Join Us as a Volunteer at Dress and Effect!
We’re looking for dedicated volunteers to support our mission Thursdays through Saturdays from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM at our White Plains location. Volunteers play a vital role in preparing donated dresses for our store and clients. Tasks include sorting donations, hanging and steaming dresses, tagging and inventory, and packaging items for recycling.
You can also volunteer during client shopping appointments—perfect for anyone who loves styling and enjoys helping others feel their best.
